Maker's comments | Mekong Delta & Dong Nai Take a holiday on a red-fruit farm. A gentle warm-up from roasted olives and brown bread before the red cherries, red currants and raspberries open-up with gusto. |

Tasting Experience | A very strong earthy flavour, reminiscent of the jute bags that carry cacao beans is the first sign of this chocolate bar. Once melting in the mouth, the earthy flavour is joined by a chocolatey aroma creating a strong sensation. Unfortunately there is a growing acidity sensation coming at the second stage of melting which persists during the equally strong after taste. Although there is no mention of the bean type on the wrapping, the salesman at "Hotel Chocolat" in Oxford (UK) swore these were Criollos. If true, they'd be lacking the fruitiness of the South American Criollos. Overall, this is a good chocolate but below what "Hotel Chocolat" has accustomed us. |
