Maker's comments Luscious and friendly. Caramel-custard with malt notes at first, then roast apricots and vanill cream, always superbly smooth and deeply chocolaty. Just 17% added sugar – our rich cocoa milks satisfy with less. Made from a lovely batch of cocoa we bought from the Trinidad Cocoa Association. Well-fermented, high quality Trinatario beans, from the island that gave them their name. More about the cocoa of Trinidad Trinidad cocoa was named after this island as it was the centre of research for vital work in the arly 1900’s which crossed delicious but feeble Criollo cocoa types with hardier stock, in order to make cocoa growing a more dependable enterprise (indeed, the Trinatario trees on our own estate in Saint Lucia originated from Trinidad). Unlike so many cocoa nations, Trinidad has had a relatively smooth economic experience with cocoa since it was introduced by the Spanish in the 1500s. Tasting Experience The first sensation escaping the long "Hotal Chocolat" wrapper when opening, is sweet earthiness. Whiel melting in the mouth the very creamy texture delivers a mix aromas that include sweet tobacco close to caramel, caramel fruits and of course cacao. The overall tone is mellow sweetness cacao. This an excellent chocolate bar for people looking for sweet sensations.
