Maker's comments Part of the 2,300 hectares Akesson family estate, the plantation is located in the Sambirano Valley, in the North-West of Madagascar. Since 1920 we have produced world famous aromatic cocoa. Besides 300 tons of trinatario cocoa produced every year, a very limited quantity of criollo beans - 2 tons - is harvested separately. This chocolate has a very expressive cocoa aroma with subtle fruity-sweet tartness and a pleasant flavour notes that evoke citrus and red berries.

Tasting Experience On opening the square wrapper there is no strong aroma but a soft and slightly sweet flavour with chocolaty notes. The bar breaks nicely and while melting delivers a strong fruitiness with hints berries and floral tones. The texture is smooth without being creamy. The total absence of acidity enhances the fruitiness sensation. The after taste is moderately long lasting and mild. There is a lingering fruitiness in the mouth. Overall, an excellent and rare chocolate made for tasting. A sophisticated experience.
