Maker's comments | (Translated from French) Cacao Real del Xoconuzco The first cocoa bean known to have been regularly cultivated by men in Mexico, the "Cacao Real del Xoconuzco” (Rolyal cocoa of Xoconuzco) was made for the emperors of pre-Colombian civilisations to bring them strength and courage. This is also the first cocoa to cross the Oceans for the enjoyment of European courts. Hard to grow, the Xoconuzco cocoa trees were gradually abandoned despite their fantastic flavours. For the first time since 1850, this cocoa is used again to allow you to discover its moving flavours, its exceptional aromas and its history, so close to ours. Tasting Experience | The classical Bonnat wrapper opens while delivering a strong cacao perfume. This bar is strong and aromatic. While melting in the mouth, the creamy texture (Bonnat chocolates do not use any emulsifier, but added cacao butter to mix the particules together) melts gently to gradually deliver a strong cacao aroma enhanced by woody notes and a hint of acidity that ideally complements the sensations. The after taste is long, creamy and chocolatey with light fruity notes. Overall a superb and rare chocolate bar that will please most cacao lovers attracted by strength. |
