Maker's comments | Les Grands Crus du Cacao (Translated from French) The Cocoa “Grands Crus” are selected by Stephane Bonnat, “Maitre Chocolatier in “Voiron - Chartreuse” (ndlr: near Grenoble, France). All the cocoa arrive in Voiron from the best plantations in the world as beans, in order to be roasted and converted into these chocolate bars that you are about to discover, compare and enjoy. (Translated from French) The cocoa bean from Cuzco might be the oldest cocoa harvested by man. Located in the Amazonian region of Peru, near the sacred Incas valley, the cacao trees produce beans which are rich in delicate perfumes with subtle sugar cane notes and a strong cacao taste on the finish. Tasting Experience | The Bonnat signature wrapper opens on a strong cacao flavor with sugar cane aromas, but no sweetness. While meting in the mouth, the renowned Bonnat creamy texture delivers more cacao sensations and a hint of sweetness with sugar cane aroma. Later on, bitter notes develop enhancing the chocolatey aroma. The after taste is rather long in chocolate with a short fruity spike on the finish. Overall, an excellent chocolate that will pleas connoisseurs and sybarites alike. |
