Maker's comments | Chocolate comes from the Nahuatl world "Xocolatl" which means "bitter water". The Aztec God "Quetzalcoati, the great cultivator of the paradise, left the cacao tree as the most appraised gift for men. Do ti great value and symbology of abundance, cacao was used like currency or offering. The Aztecs discovered that grinding the cocoa seeds with sugar, they obtained: xocolatl, which they drank or ate for its energetic, reinvigorating and stimulant properties. This great Mexican legacy is now commercialised as chocolate, in all the different variants that are known everywhere in the world. |
A Mexican rugged bar
BAR TASTING
Cacao Flavor | Moderate |
Acidity | Strong |
Roasted Nuts | Strong |
Bitterness | Very strong |
Tasting Experience | This is a strong chocolate bar indeed. Despite the rather weak chocolaty and roasted nuts aroma it produces when opening the package, this bar is strong in the mouth. The large bar breaks with some efforts. The subsequent large pieces need to be chewed a little in order to melt in the mouth. The main aroma is earthy with bitterness. It feels close to the plant but is rather acid and bitter. Because of these characteristics, the after taste is long but I did not find it pleasant. Overall, a rather rugged chocolate bar made with rugged beans for a rugged result. |
