Maker's comments | This premium chocolate has been manufactured utilizing the famed "Carenero Superior" Cacao bean from the north-central region of Venezuela. This area traditionally called BARLOVENTOhas been producing this classic world-sought-after bean since the early days of the colony in the mid-1600's. The concept of "Appelation d'origine controlee" denomination of origin in use in the wine industry around the world, together with teh very high quality of the raw material with its distinctive taste and aroma have been blended to produce this rare delicacy. Please discover the full range of flavor and aroma of the entire Carenero Superio line of products, only form Chocolates Del Rey. |

Tasting Experience | The main flavour and the then aroma of this chocolate is earthiness. The smells when opening the wrapper are reminiscent of the jute bag used to carry the dried beans. Dry and earthy with, of course a chocolaty flavour growing in the mouth. I've found the texture a bit greasy rather than creamy. The after taste is strong and long of the same type as the initial aromas. Overall, a good chocolate, which should be better considering the origin of the bean. |
