Maker's comments | Real People, Real Places The farmer on the front of this package, Monica Guaman, along with her small cooperative gathered and fermented the cocoa beans for the bar inside. Working directly with farmers like Monica - instead of brokers - allows me to share profits and ensure excellent bean quality and allows you to know exactly where the chocolate is from. Without these direct trade relationships , we coudln't handcraft good chocolate from the bean. Signed - Shawn Askinosie, Founder & CEO |

Tasting Experience | The Askinosie signature craft paper emphasizes the handcrafted nature of the bar. The chocolate bar inside is protected by a biodegradable cellophane sleeve. On opening the main aroma escaping is of cacao with hints of coffee and earthy flavors. The perfect texture let theses sensations develop and expand while melting in the mouth. Red fruit notes appear while the cacao feeling grows, providing a richness taste. The after taste is long and concentrated on cacao. Overall a wonderful chocolate experience that will please all discerning palates, and in particular those attracted by Amazonian varieties such as the Ecuadorian Nacional and Arriba cacao beans. |
